I have a 2006 CLS55 AMG. The product page for the head unit that I ordered said that all speakers would work with the unit, and also that the steering wheel controls would function. I ordered all of the recommended extras for the nit including the CANBUS adapter and whatever else it said for the Harmon Kardon system with Fiber Optics.

Took the old one out and began installing the new one and the wiring did not connect to every wire that was on the stock connector and it was advertised as "plug and play".

I tried to contact them through their website and got no response and it's been a full month so the unit is sitting here and basically an almost $600 paper weight at this point. They provide no installation guide with the unit, and I couldn't find one on their website or even YouTube from any other installers.

Some reply from them would be appreciated as this is not a cheap unit. If it ends up working out Illl definitely change my review and recommend the unit to others but at this point I'm very frustrated.

This seems to be a good head unit for the w211. No surprises. Screen is clear and high res. Audio sounds great (although I use pre outs only to the factory Harmon kardon amp). I don’t use the unit’s main amp and cannot rate it. I bought the large wiring harness as recommended but that was not needed with the optical decoder and the included canbus decoder. Canbus decoder connects to bus bar under dash. It controls power and steering wheel buttons. Head unit connects to existing radio power wire. Optical decoder (additional purchase) allows use of existing optical network (only for those with upgraded Harmon kardon system). The only wires I had to run to the trunk were backup cam, antenna, gps antenna. The antenna wires are just fakra extension cables. I’d buy again from this vendor.

Very happy with the result. In my case I did not need a fiber optic adapter and the installation has been very simple. It seems as if the car came as standard with the radio. The operation is very fluid and the audio quality is correct. I only need to install the camera, since I have bought another one of better quality.

The radio is super. Ordered 4/64 (works fast) delivered in a week. The cooler was installed just in case using a homemade corner of perforated gypsum board. The Microphone built-in works fine, did not connect the remote.In the menu, the radio also tried everything. In factory settings through password there is no point of selecting media mode. If anyone found how to get rid of this, please answer the question to the product. In general, the radio is satisfied, I advise!
